I recently installed Xubuntu 12.04 in a Acer Aspire 5517 with 1366x768 screen and the same bug occurred. The login screen was clearly not centered and it was visually disturbing. And i also upgraded my wife's netbook (Samsung N150 plus) 1024x600 (i think) and the login screen is also off centre. I do not know how to report this bug in terminal like "ubuntu-bug package" because i do not know what package is it.
