Look at these specs to see what kind of slot you have.

You probably need a new video board. Make sure that IT is supported by Linux. 
Look at specs on the web site for the manufacturer. Read reviews at Newegg.com 
and look for comments about user experience with Linux.

I got an ASUS from Amazon some time ago, ASUS GT610-SL-1GD3-L. There are sure 
to be later models. It worked well after I got the proper video cable - the 
issue was the monitor/TV combo. I got this one because I have a low profile 
case. Lower cost models are likely to be adequate unless you are a big-time 
gamer. The ASUS also handled Photoshop adequately (I dual boot too Widow$ to 
use Pshop.)
