Hello

I'm responsible for a small school network: one samba 4 domain controller and 10 xubuntu-desktop-pc's.
So users can login using the ldap, then their account on the server gets mounted on the local pc and when the user logs out all their data are stored on the server and finally the account gets unmounted.

Now, when a user logs in for the first time the default Xubuntu desktop (menu, wallpaper, folders, etc.) is generated.
How can I change this default Xubuntu desktop? Especially I will replace the Whisker-Menu with the old one and additionally create panel at the bottom of the desktop and in this panel add the icons of most important applications.

In Xubuntu 16.04 as far as I know the default desktop settings are placed in the folder /etc/xdg. Which file do I have to modify, so that in default I can replace the whisker menu with the old one? And how can I add in default a bottom panel with some applications like libreoffice writer or a filemanager?

Kind regards.
