Thanks for the answers. The process disappeared before I could investigate further. The M82 is a desktop. I've noticed slow downs a couple of times, but it's been pretty good the past hour while I've been using Firefox, Remmina, and a couple of terminals. It's strange because this system is pretty close to a fresh install. There may be some misbehaving hardware. I haven't run into this issue on my Xubuntu system at home.
