hi,

yes I have installed all the codecs and extras, which was recommended
on some Websites I've found by google and metager, as well in some
forums from vlc.

Maybe, there are some settings needed for getting running matroskas in
vlc ?

For shure, I could send the actual settings, but it seems, I have all
the standard-settings as ist is after installing vlc.
Are there some special-settings needed for that matroska ?

Matroska is a container, the video could be in almost any format. That is probably the problem - the video may be in a format that you don't have codecs for.

1) from a terminal, run mediainfo and look for the video codec used for the video. You can also find this from vlc "Tools => Codecs".

2) you can also try running mpv from the command line and see what it says - is it able to play the video? does it complain (in the terminal) about not being able to play the video stream, or missing streams, or something else?

Basically, we need to find out what sort of video is in the matroska container, so we can figure out next steps.
