Xubuntu 24.04.3 I'm working on my desktop system and at unpredictable times I lose my xmodmap keyboard assignments. I have a command that I can type in a terminal to quickly reset the assignments, but this problem seems to be accelerating since I upgraded to 24.04 and I wanted to ask if anyone ever discovered what system actions are triggering this so that I could try to apply a workaround.
Searching the web I see that this has been a problem for people for quite some time and the consensus seems to be that it is Wayland that is causing the problem. I'm asking on the xubuntu group as this is likely the best place for knowledgeable X11 insights. I'm not looking forward to the day when the switchover to Wayland happens fully and X11 is abandoned as I think this may just be the tip of the iceberg in terms of problems long time xfce4 users will face. :-( Anyway, any tips are appreciated.
