Longhorn is still a long way off. And mass longhorn deployment is even further away. There is no way that XAML can be adopted as a de facto HTML replacement until Longhorn achieves >50% market penetration. I actually believe this will *not* happen. Longhorn will come out, at best, by the end of 2005. Free Software has moved so quickly and become so good that there will be increased corporate adoption. The savings achievable of adopting Free Software, not to mention the fact that it is far more reliable, will far outweigh the advantages of the extra graphical snap of Longhorn and do outweigh the advantages of Windows today. And the commercial world is finally beginning to realise. The market place will look very different then than it does now. The only thing that can replace HTML as the de facto standard for creating rich applications is something recognised by both sides of the fence. It is down to somebody other than Microsoft to provide it if they can before Longhorn is released. Rev up your engines everybody. It could be one of you. -- - Charlie Charles Goodwin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Online @ www.charlietech.com ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Oracle 10g Get certified on the hottest thing ever to hit the market...
