Martin gave a great answer using the Dell monitor. I tested the ATI 48xx cards using the Gateway XHD3000 a long time ago which has the 2560 x 1600 maximum resolution. The Gateway monitor works well with the ATI and Nvidia cards up to highest resolutions. I added it to the Sun HCL awhile ago.
