I've just upgraded to b39 on an IBM T43p (ATI FireGL chipset with 128 MB RAM).
I also
have just connected a Sun 18" TFT monitor (1280x1024 native resolution) to the
DVI
output of an IBM Docking station. I will probably get a 1600x1200 dpi screen
(21" or
so) to replace the smaller Sun one in the future if I can work out some issues.

After booting Solaris, I was surprised to find the output on the Sun monitor
(DVI output)
rather than the built-in 1600x1200 panel. I assume that I need to enable
xinerama to
use both screens but I haven't figured out how to tell Xorg to use the built-in
screen always
and the DVI connected screen as a second screen (to the right) when available.
Would
anyone in the know be able to suggest mods to my xorg.conf file to make that
happen?

I would like for the notebook screen to be used always and the 2nd monitor to
be used
if available. Under XP, IBM offers an app to set up the screens presenting a
menu to
choose from. I have various setups defined there (native on the notebook,
notebook+
2nd screen on Sun monitor, notebook with projector both displaying the same
image, etc.

(With Solaris I use an xorg.conf file to get the dpi set correctly at 133 dpi
on the 15"
1600x1200 screen on the notebook. The machine worked fine at 1600x1200 but
the fonts were tiny until I set the dpi correctly. I need reasonable size
fonts as I'm
well past needing reading glasses for seeing anything at other than infinity
:-) ).

Thanks for any suggestions/help,

Stuart
