No. In Xorg 6.8, I could explicitly set the vertical and horizontal refresh in xorg.conf and the driver honored those numbers. In Xorg 6.9, the driver ignores the VertRefresh and HorizSync options and uses DDC to set the refresh (http://ftp.x.org/pub/X11R7.0/doc/html/RELNOTES4.html#17): (II) I810(0): Monitor name: DELL E193FP (II) I810(0): Ranges: V min: 56 V max: 76 Hz, H min: 31 H max: 83 kHz, PixClock max 140 MHz (II) I810(0): Will use BIOS call 0x5f05 to set refresh rates for CRTs. (--) I810(0): Maximum space available for video modes: 7784 kByte (II) I810(0): Using detected DDC timings (II) I810(0): HorizSync 31-83 (II) I810(0): VertRefresh 56-76 Because this is an analog LCD panel connected to the VGA port, Xorg treats it like a CRT and tries to drive it at the maximum refresh rate it supports. I tried adding "Option 'NoDDC'" to my "Device" section and got a blank screen. I tried using a custom modeline from gtf and also got a blank screen. I can't be the ONLY guy out there running Xorg with an analog LCD panel who DOESN'T want to run it at 75Hz. This message posted from opensolaris.org
