Hmm, I rechecked OS2008.11-b98 *again* with a 1280x1024x75 display resolution and got this result from a DIFFERENT monitor. I also tested on another computer which was the same model and configuration:
System: 2.5Ghz Pentium4, Intel 845G IGP, Intel 2.4.0, XAA: 1. 224 FPS (glxgears - open window,1280x1024x75 resolution) 2. 2496 FPS (glxgears - minimized window, 1280x1024x75 resolution) I checked OS2008.11-b93 on the original test machine: System: 2.5Ghz Pentium4, Intel 845G IGP, Intel 2.3.0, XAA: 1. 225 FPS (glxgears - open window,1280x1024x75 resolution) 2. 2450 FPS (glxgears - minimized window, 1280x1024x75 resolution) Now with a Nvidia 6200 video card I got this from my original monitor just for a comparison using the Nvidia 173.14.05 video driver on OS2008.11-b98: 1. 1176 FPS (glxgears - open window,1920x1200x60 resolution) 2. 2496 FPS (glxgears - minimized window, 1920x1200x60 resolution) Conclusion: There was no major difference in FPS between Intel 2.3.0 -> 2.4.0video drivers, nor OSOL2008.11-b93->b98 for glxgears at these display resolutions (i.e. 1280x1024 and below). ~ Ken Mays -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
