This was answered(?) in another thread. I have a GeForce FX 5700LE video card.
With snv_101 and snv_102, the desktop looks like letterbox television, black
pillar box bars on each side of the screen. I can fix it by pkgrm'ing the 3
NVDA packages and reinstalling them from snv_99 media. I was told by rugrat
that:

"The GeForce 5700LE is based on a G3x GPU that is supported by the R173 legacy
driver branch. In b100 and above you will fall back to the bundled nv/vgatext
driver. You will need to load the latest R173 driver for this board after an
install or upgrade."

Does this mean that pkgrm / pkgadd is now part of my upgrade procedure or do I
throw away two perfectly good video cards and buy new ones since they have been
obsoleted by the driver vendor? And if that is the case, how long before the
new cards are obsolete. Come on folks, you can do better than this. Planned
obsolescence sucks.
