Hello all,

I'm not sure where to put this, since I don't really understand the problem,
please tell me if I'm supposed to post this somewhere else :)

The problem seems to be that whenever I type in a series of characters
quickly(<15 chars) into a gnome application, such as pidgin, gnome-terminal or
firefox, the program in question becomes unresponsive and hangs for a few
seconds.
There's no noticable increase in CPU activity whatsoever.

Steps to reproduce:
Switch workspaces to find an open firefox.
Hit C-t to open a new tab and type in opensolaris.org.
Watch application hang for a second or two midway through the input.

Have a conversation in pidgin.
Type a few messages quickly.
Watch pidgin hang for a few seconds.

The programs in question don't lose any input, it's more like they 'hang' on
displaying the input.
This does not happen in xterm or emacs.

I think my issue might be related to this post(not the bug report itself, but
the comment on it)
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=2815#c22

I would appreciate any help on tracking this down.

Thanks,
Solvi Pall A.
