Nevada 74 has the Intel 2.1.1 driver which should support the X3100.  
You need
 the SUNWxorg-graphics-ddx  package, but the ddx API changed with 
Xrandr1.2, so
you're safest with a full upgrade/install.

We would like to hear confirmation that it works in the field.
