Well, I don't have a 3100 - I have a GMA945 integrated desktop mobo and want it to come up in 1920x1200: the b66 driver doesn't want to know about more than 1600x1200. And its a throwaway test *so long as* I can restore the grub conf that also boots Ubuntu and Vista - I don't believe that the Ubuntu grub can grok the Solaris filesystems so I have to use the Solaris grub and the master.
Alan's comment is concerning. Perhaps I'll wait a bit longer while the Intel driver stabilises. James
