Hi Martin, I know of your work on porting the SPARC video drivers as I've watched your progress for many months now. Sorry if I didn't mention your work in my 'history lesson' abstracts from Alan's blogging.
You did bring up the Scanpci.c file which was one of the things I tried to mention earlier as contributors like you having all of the tools, docs, and files you need to get the job done. Although you have ported your device drivers to Xorg - what about Sun & Xorg certification/verification testing (i.e. Level I/II/...)? My comments stem from "Sun supported and approved" not just "community supported" video device drivers. Users may want some insurance from 'Sun internal' that if your video drivers go on 'mission-critical' servers or workstations - they won't have to worry about support calls or a 'hung' system due to non-certified drivers. If this is the case, how do we fix these issues so your work is not in vain?? ~ Ken Mays This message posted from opensolaris.org
