Question #172107 on Yade changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/172107
Vincent Richefeu proposed the following answer: Hi, Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that dV/V = tr(EPS) is true if EPS is a true strain. Do you still observe a difference between dV/V and tr(EPS) if you consider true strain? In this case you should have tr(EPS) = ln(1 + eps_xx) + ln(1 + eps_yy) + ln(1 + eps_zz), which equals the volume change even for large strains. (In this formula eps is common Cauchy strain = dL/L) Vincent -- You received this question notification because you are a member of yade-users, which is an answer contact for Yade. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~yade-users Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~yade-users More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
