I couldn't tell you if I have authorised the port settings as I don't know how to do this. I don't get any error message, it just says 'connecting to messenger' and then it just stops. I cannot load any java applets on yahoo, it just tries and tries and then stops saying not able to connect, try again. Thanks for your help on this.

Daniel,
Can you tell me if you have authorized the port settings?? Meaning
have you allowed your firewall and network to access the ports that
yahoo needs to connect?
What kind of error are you getting?
Can you connect to yahoo through their front page??? using java??
Let me know
