This group has been and will always be moderated due to the amount of messages as well as the membership level of the group. In response to the 'on join' message, keep in mind that there IS a rather lengthy e-mail sent when members join. To reiterate the points in the message, this will be set to 2 weeks. Also, please keep in mind that the moderators of this group are also human and have a tendency to make mistakes. I myself work 52 hours a week, and the last thing I want to receive in my e-mail is another spam message on top of the hundreds I receive a week.
Those that want to find a 'chat partner' in this group will always be welcome here regardless of the rules on the group because, let's face it, some of us have a harder time finding friends than others. This group has been 'for the users, by the users' since I started it in 2000 and will remain as such. With that, it will be very difficult to satisfy every member that joins the group. I think by the text in this message, most everyone will know how I feel. There has always been some type of complaint revolving around these issues and unfortunately there is little that can be done anymore, because every time it's brought up everyone wants something to be done a little different than before. By no means is this a perfect group. The only two options that I have left is putting the group on full moderation, which would slow down response time in the group, as most receive help from other members - or closing the group off entirely. At this point I'm open for other suggestions. Please e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please keep in mind I am only looking for issues with suggestions, not just issues.
