OK...problem solved.  It wasn't unique to this version, as I had the 
same problem after installing 7.5.

The problem is a conflict with the TV tuner card.  The solution is 
to download vidcap32.exe (search for it on the Net), run it, and 
change the source from the TV tuner card to the webcam.  This solved 
the problem and didn't affect my TV tuner card.  I found this 
solution on the Logitech support forum.
