What version of YM are you using? To find this, click the Help Menu, About
Yahoo Messenger to find out the version. The current version is 8.0.* I
still use 7.5 due to some of the quirks still out there on 8.0.*

This does not sound like a program problem or yahoo server issue... although
it could be and it's just a coincidence that it's only happening to your
wife's account. What happens when your wife sent you an invite? Was she
able to do this?

It may have to do with the preference set up in your wife's account. Open
up your preferences (Messenger Menu, Preferences) and make notes of all of
your settings and then duplicate them in her account. Do you all each have
separate accounts or do you have one ID as a sub-ID of the main ID? If you
have the sub-ID set up, then it's not doing the additional add-on because
the friends list would stay the same for both... I think. I'm not a user of
sub-ID's.

1. trouble adding contacts

We have been having trouble adding contacts onto my wifes messenger account.
We have had friends and family that we have been able to ad to my account
but not my wifes. We are using the same computer with the same version of
messenger on it. When we try to add someone as a contact on her account they
never receive the invite. If we try to add them on my account they see it
immediately. I tried asking about this on answers and got no takers. Hope
someone can tell me what I may check.
