How else is your computer acting in general?

Do you run current and up to date antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware, etc.?
If you don't, try running this free online scan from Microsoft which will
check for malware and clean your Registry and clean/defrag your Hard
Drive(s).

Run the FREE Windows Live Safety Center on your computer.
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm (Scroll down to middle
column, click "Full Service Scan") You do NOT have to subscribe to the
Windows Live Safety Center 90 day free trial (ad in top right corner). It's
not necessary to run this free scan. I usually do it weekly or every other
week as a small part of my overall computer security and maintenance.

Also check out the FREE online backup of your important files (up to 2Gigs++
for FREE and unlimited storage also available) available from Mozy.com...
LINK IN MY SIG... I've been using it since it was in Beta and endorse it
100%. If you subscribe through my link, you and I will both get an extra
256MB of online storage. I am not paid in any other way for my endorsement.

It may take several hours depending on your online speed and computer speed
and the maintenance condition of your registry and hard drive.

Do you know how to use MSCONFIG and Windows Task Manager?

OK. Next, go into your Preferences and on the first category, called
"General", in the middle of that section, there is a line for
"Remove the
taskbar button when I minimize the main window". Make sure you do
not have
        that checked off.

        Justin,

You probably have the auto-hide feature enabled for the icons in
        your system
tray. This hides inactive system tray icons. There should be a
        little < or
        > to the left of your system tray icons. Click the < or > to expand
        or
contract the rest of your system tray icons. If you want to change
        how this
works, right click on your Start button or task bar and choose
        Properties.
Either check or uncheck the box for "Hide Inactive Icons" on the
        taskbar
        tab.

My problems are always different than anybody elses. What my problem
        is, is
that the yahoo messenger smily face icon is not showing up in my
        systray.
for a few days it wasn't there after i started up my computer. I had
        my
computer of on sunday when i was gone for the day and turned it on
        that
evening. when i turned it on the icon was not in the systray. my
        computer
was on until this afternoon when i went off becuase the power went
        out when
i was working so i turned it back on after work. the icon was there
        then but
my norton antivirus didn't seem to be running. i just restarted my
        computer,
and my antivirus is running but the yahoo icon is not there though.
        yahoo
        messenger is running though.
