I'm not familiar with the Mac application but with the Windows App, your
friends list is actually saved on the Yahoo Messenger servers so you can
have access to your friends no matter where you sign into YM from.

I saw that scroll down issue once with a previous version of MSN Messenger
but never with YM. It sure was irritating. LOL

You can browse to your C:\Program\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles folder (or it's
applicable path in Mac) and copy the folder with your name on it to your
desktop.

Then do an uninstall, clean your registry, then reinstall YM. Then move
your profile folder back into place and you should not lose any of your
personal information such as archived chats, etc.

Subject: [Y!M] issue with !Y Messenger for Mac

Using the latest beta version. The problem which just surfaced is that after
three or four short text passages have been sent, !YM keeps defaulting to
the top first few entries of that very same window; meaning, that in order
to read any new text I've gotta keep scrolling down to the bottom of the
chat window.

I've tried closing the window (not the app), but the issue of having to
continually scroll down persists. Re-booting doesn't seem to have an effect
on it either.

This dilemma is new, having begun just yesterday.

I'm not seeking a resolution, though if any of the member here have
experienced anything like this and have a solution that worked I'd be most
appreciative.

What I'd really like to know is: if I remove/uninstall Yahoo Messenger from
my MacBook, is there a way to save any of the saved addresses, or would they
have to be re-constructed later? Which (if any) file could I have to look
for to copy and resurrect after re-installing a replacement version?

thanks in advance, pardners!
Charlie
