Hi Charlie, I don't mean to bad-mouth Y!M too much. After-all, you can get some great video conferencing that way. But for general text messaging on the Macintosh, I prefer using Adium X.
http://www.adiumx.com/ Adium is an excellent open source IM program developed for the Macintosh. It works with all of the IM servers out there simultaneously, so you can see your friends on MSN, AIM/iChat, Y!M, Jabber, etc., etc.; all at once. Your list of names is on the IM server, so you won't be losing your buddy's names. You merely have to remember your users name/sign-on and password to access this. Adium isn't able to have video or voice conferencing, mainly because that is proprietary technology of the various servers, but for what it does, it does it well. I would recommend you downloading and using this instead. At least until Yahoo! can improve their client program for the Macintosh. I have heard talk about their being a Y!M update in the works for the Mac that will even allow for chat rooms, so something is coming soon. Best of luck to you. --Rick --- In [email protected], "Charlie" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Using the latest beta version.
