Lenny,
I dont know the name of the anti virus it illuded, but at this moment I have
AVG.
I had a free version of some dumb thing off internet, which obviously doesn't
work. So I paid for AVG my dad told me about them.

Which antivirus do you have?
Do you have three firewalls? Which three and why are you running three?
That would seem to slow down most computers to a crawl.
If it's a brand new trojan, your AV may not have had the proper definitions
installed. Do you do daily updates and scans?
Do you have a good anti-spyware that runs actively in the background also?
That is what would be most likely to detect this type of program that you
downloaded. If you use SpywareBlaster (FREE), it makes changes to your
registry to prevents most spyware from even being able to download or start
up on your computer but since it's free, they don't updated it daily so
there is a slight lapse in protection which is why you should also have a
good active anti-spyware to detect these rogue programs.
Your firewall should have alerted you that it was trying to dial out but you
may have allowed it thinking it was "normal".
You should have been able to use the many free programs like Spybot,
Ad-Aware, various online scans from the major AV companies, etc. to remove
this trojan without having to spend money. Who did you send the $30.00 to?

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to make sure you all knew about what happened to me, so you
wouldn't get it too. Be very careful about downloading Active X Controls
these days, i was downloading one three days ago, and a trojan horse called
Zlob using the ruse of an anti virus protection went right past my anti
virus like it wasn't even there, it also goes thru your firewall, I had
three at the time. You can read about it on the internet by punching in
VirusProtectPro removal, thats how I found out about it. It attaches to your
computer to swindle you out of your money. Which, I'm pleased to say I do
not fall for....lol. VirusProtectPro is a bad thing, that installs itself
with Active X controls. It took me three days and 30 bucks to get rid of it,
so please be careful. Have a good day, stay safe !!!
