I don't use Yahoo Mail because only the paid version has POP3 access. I use Gmail because it is also free and it does allow POP3 access from Outlook/Outlook Express.
Of course, with any email service (free or paid), you should still visit the webmail page to check your spam folder on at least a weekly basis to make sure good mail isn't getting put in the spam folder by accident.
