You might want to clear out your yahoo related cookies. Although I'm not
sure if a cookie could change the check mark on your profile... but I guess
anything is possible. A cookies sole purpose is for a website to remember
you and your preferences when you visit it so there could be a conflict with
the hiding preference.

I use CCleaner to manage my cookies and clean out other TIF's (temporary
internet files). I keep around 200 cookies active in my TIF folder for the
sites I go to often where I want them to remember me but I clean out all the
others with CCleaner. If you decided to start using CCleaner, let me know
and I'll do a blog with screen shots on how I have mine set up since I use
it ONLY to clear out temp files and TIF files. It can do a lot more but it
can also clean things that people didn't want cleaned if they aren't careful
and study what each setting does. I've been meaning to do a blog about
CCleaner for quite a while but I won't be able to do it till later this
evening since I'm off to work right now.

In the interim, if you want to go and delete all your yahoo cookies now,
open up an IE (internet explorer) page and then under the Tools menu, choose
Internet Options. On the General tab, under the section Browsing History,
click the Settings button. Then click View Files button. That will open
your TIF folder. If you have 1,000's of files in there, you may want to
empty your TIF folder first which will dump all the TIF files except cookies
so you won't have as much to look through. To clear out all the other TIF
files except cookies, leave the TIF folder open but click OK on the window
that opened to give you the TIF folder "View Files" button. You'll be back
to the Internet Options window. Under browsing history, click OK on that
window also. Now go back to the Tools Menu on IE and at the top, there is a
item called Delete Browsing History (this may work the same as the button on
the Internet Options window but I'm not positive since the button on the IO
window says it will delete everything where this choice opens a window that
gives you options.). After you chose Tools Menu, Delete Browsing History,
click the button under Temporary Internet Files and that will get rid of
everything except the cookies. You'll see a separate button for cookies but
don't click it since cookies can be useful.

Now go back to your TIF folder that you previously opened and you should
have only cookies and possible webpage Icon's remaining but I don't think
they are stored in the TIF folder any longer.

Now you can sort those cookie files under the "Internet Address" column...
oh wait... you might not have your folders set to show details so you may be
looking at the cookies in the thumbnails or tiles format. To put in in the
details format, under the View Menu, choose Details. This will change the
tiles or thumbnails down to single lines and columns. Now sort the cookies
by clicking on the top of the column called Internet Address and read down
and delete any cookie that has yahoo in it.

Now you know why I use CCleaner to manage cookies as they have only two
steps to go through this process. LOL

Spoke too soon. I went in and put a check in the bos to allow websites to
show when I am online. I also went to edit my profile and there was a check
in hide my online status. I unchecked it and clicked save changes. But
everytime I go back in there the check is back.
