What antivirus are you running that won't clean it?

I use AVG Free edition 7.5 and it works fine.

Be careful of some products that claim to give you a free scan and then it
finds something and says it can fix it if you buy the product. Many of
these types of products are scams and based on false positives. I've read
about Prevx before and I believe it's not one of these scam type products
but there should be other free products that will clean this up.

If Anvo.exe is showing up in Task Manager, it's not likely a very good virus
since they would normally cloak themselves better and either have a similar
or exactly the same name as a normal running process. This sounds more like
it may be some kind of malware that somebody downloaded, rather than an
actual virus.

I did a Google search on anvo.exe and there wasn't much on this. Most of
the instances were related to the same website forums... foxite.com, which
is strange. Why would everybody who got this virus go to the same website
forum?
http://www.foxite.com/archives/second-encounter-of-the-third-kind-0000161736
.htm does have instructions for removing it but they are rather simplistic.

When I have a computer security problem I cannot resolve on my own, I go to
http://www.castlecops.com/forums.html and I just did a search of their
forums and not a single post about anvo so something is strange. Either
it's a brand new virus/trojan and you are one of the first people to get it
along with the other people on the foxite.com site.

I did see where ANVO, as an acronym, stands for "Accept No Verbal Orders" so
it certainly could be a name picked out by a virus/trojan writer.

Keep Googling "anvo.exe" or one of the dll's you have, every day, until you
find more security related forums handling this issue to make sure the info
on foxite.com is accurate. I did see where .anvo was part of the name of
several backdoor trojans listed in the glossary's of some of the big
antivirus companies but it's strange that it's not showing up in more
forums.

Subject: [Y!M] does anyone know hoe to remove the amvo.exe virus?

hi! does anyone know how to remove the anvo.exe virus without the complicted
steps of running msconfig and editing the registry? What antivirus or
malware/spyware have you tried that successfully removed the virus? one
software called Prevx claims to successfully remove the virus but you have
to buy their software.is there any free antivirus or malware/software
capable of removing it? the virus affects multiple applications including
Yahoo Messenger. When you use yahoo messenger, it tepmorarily logs you in
but after a few seconds, especially when you place the mouse pointer over it,
it suddenly closes.it also affect the folder options in the control panel.
you can show hidden files. Also when you click my computer, it always opens
it in another window.I hope someone can shed light into this issue.thank
you.
