If you are able to sign in other ID's with no problems, then you have a problem with that one ID... likely the password. It's not uncommon for Yahoo ID's to be hacked/stolen and then the thief uses it to have access to your address book and send spam/trojans to your friends who do not realize it's not you. If it's working for other ID's, then it's not YIM. I've never tried using a different password to see what YIM does... maybe it does sign in for a second and then boots when it realizes it's the wrong password. Try signing into Yahoo.com with the ID and password to see what it does.

OTHER ID names will sign into YIM just fine. Right before this issue happened I was deleting a name from the friends list. The friend is still on the list- which I see briefly before being booted.
