I'm +0 on the patch in its current state. I tested out the patch and it does
not disrupt my build environment.
However, I still don't like the idea of committing a patch on an umbrella JIRA.
We can't close the JIRA because it has open subtasks. So I think that we should
create a subtask and add this patch to it.
