Thanks [~varun_saxena] for pointing out an important issue. I would agree with 
[~gtCarrera9] that this is bit lower in priority compared to YARN-3814, but 
it's an important issue nonetheless.

I'm just curious (and perhaps this is a totally dumb question for a HBase 
newbie), is there a way to specify that the value type is a numeric type when 
we create the table or the column family? Does HBase itself support something 
like that?
