I see one javadoc warning and a few checkstyle warnings in the patch - will fix
that along with any other review comments that might come up.
The other failures in the build (the findbugs, javadoc, whitespace) are not due
to this patch. The tests that have failed I believe are unrelated to the
changes in patch.
