Comrades, I don't understand why should we treat the Terrible Lekota and his bad company with kids' gloves. Why should we put up with this sheer NONSESE for so long? They have openly transgressed the policies of the ANC and continue to consistently unleash unwarranted attacks on the ANC. This is a critical moment in the history of our movement, whereby we need to CLOSE RANK and unite against this offensive aimed at discrediting our glorious movement. Lekota is behaving like some boarding school BULLY who continues to provoke the ANC hoping that they will hit back, which will help to sustain his noise.
But Comrades, what is consistent in all that continues to be said by Mbeki, Lekota and their conies is the insinuation that the ANC is in the hand of the corrupt leadership. Who does not know that our government, under the leadership of TM, has been the most corrupt ever? The South African public has voiced, through mass actions, statistical findings and many other public platforms, their concern with the corrupt character of our government. The only reason why this matter has never received sufficient attention is because they were in control of the state power, including the Scorpions, influencing the judiciary, etc. I think it is high time that the ANC adopts a firm attitude against the corrupt elements who looted the state resources for their own empowerment and those of their friends and relatives. Have we considered the possibility that perhaps these individuals (Lekota & Co.) have looted enough of our public funds and that makes them cheeky to the extend that they think they can do without us and even launch their party to challenge us? I think the ANC must respond to the public demand that we investigate and eliminate corruption within all the state apparatus, not only the ARMS DEAL. Those found to have looted from the public purse, both public representatives and officials of government, must be mercilessly dealt with and sent to jail. I doubt if some of this noise makers will escape this honoroble measure of transparency and public accountability. Through such measures the ANC and Alliance will be unstoppable in the next year's elections. Let us refuse, at the risk of being labelled populists, to take responsibility of the mess created by the TM's administration. Let us stop them in their tracks before they cause any damage.
