Hi Cadre

Thanks General,it is very much important that we discuss these critical
issues you raised, but i`m not so sure if this is a correct platform, but i
will try to respond to some questions you raised.Yes,i`m really excited by
the appointment of Barbara Hogan, remember that she has been one of the
proponents and advocates of the Transformation of our Health System long
before her appointment, together with Nozizwe Madlala-Routeledge,it is not
only the issue of Anti-Retrovirals but the broader health problems as
envisages in terms of the 1994 ANC Health Policy.

Furthermore, one would remember that Health Policies were in most cases
stiffled by certain individuals in terms of their implementation, hence we
find ourselves in this current predicament, this for me goes not only for
Health, but the likes of Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi have been a stumbling
block in assisting our Public servants, hence the brain-drain.The issue of
142 babies is just a tip of an iceberg.Klebsiela outbreak has been down
played for quite sometimes now.The shortages of Diagnostic Tools at our
Public institutions is out of hand.Health Care Workers eg.(lay counsellors)
are still regarded as volunteers, yet they are on the frontline of the
country`s response and interventions with regard to the National Strategic
Plan.

General, there are quite a number of issues which i would like to elaborate
on like the National Health Act and many more.Hoping that we will have an
opportunity to deliberate on if given an opportunity without necessarily
diverting the forum in terms of political direction, thus we are currently
still faced with the new political order in the form of the so called
political analysts, the Terror`s,Mluleki`s and the so called disgruntled
members or great pretenders.

Hoping that you will find this in order.

Gordon Ngubo ka-Mthembu
