No matter how angry we are, we must not trade insults in return. Instead we must concentrate on real issues and exposing the unprincipled. Calling people snakes, dogs, baboons etc. is not the solution. I think Cde Buti should have invited Mda for a debate and teach her Marxism 101. I do not think that the YCL should stoop to the level of Mda and Madisha by calling them "BABOONS". We do not need this. But Madisha should equally apologise or give evidence on the 500k and other allegations. Regards, Songezo Cope apologises to the ANC NKULULEKO NCANA Published:Nov 25, 2008 (www.thetimes.co.za Congress of the People (Cope) leaders have "unconditionally" apologised to the ANC and it’s president Jacob Zuma for the inflammatory statements made by the new party’s youth leader, Anele Mda, and labour convener Willie Madisha. Both Madisha and Mda went on a bashing spree during a rally in the Eastern Cape where Madisha, referring to Zuma, said: “We will be the laughing stock of the world when we have a leader (who) says ‘I will rape and shower’." Mda told the crowd that should Zuma become president, then we would "have a government that is going to make raping official." In its statement, Cope said: "The party subscribes, without any reservation, to the principle of the independence of the judiciary and respects its findings. Therefore the remarks by Ms Mda and Mr Madisha are withdrawn unconditionally and a full apology is extended to the president of the ANC and his party." But this did not stop Young Communist League leader Buti Manamela earlier today from taking a swipe at both Madisha and Mda, labelling them "baboons" for the statements they had made. "We are of the view that the statements are inflammatory, defamatory and constitute hate speech," he said.
