The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] condemns the cowardly and dastardly assassination of Inkosi Mbongeleni Zondi. The strong allegation that Inkosi Zondi's murder is a political assassination which used to plague KwaZulu-Natal in the 1980's and early 1990's should strongly be pursued by the police. We therefore urge the law enforcement agencies particularly the South African Police Services [SAPS] to hunt down and bring to book his assassins for prosecution. This barbaric and unjustifiable Inkosi Zondi's murder reminds us of the terrible and buried past whereby our people were butchered and murdered in a violent manner by the ANC Alliance political opponents who were working closely with the enemy. As the YCLSA we urge the members of the ANC and the Alliance to remain calm and resist any temptation for retaliation. This murder of Inkosi Zondi is nothing else, but a re-invention of the old apartheid military strategy by our political opponents to instil fear and threats as we approach the forthcoming 2009 national and provincial elections. To borrow the words of Cde Solomon Mahlangu '*his [Inkosi Zondi's] blood will nourish the tree that will bear the fruits for a decisive ANC election victory*'. We send our deepest and sincere condolences to his family, relatives and friends.
