*YCL statement on the announcement of the Elections Date by President Kgalema Motlanthe*
*Tuesday 10 February 2009* The Young Communist League of South Africa [uFasimba] welcomes the election date 22 April 2009, as announced by President Kgalema Motlanthe. The elections on the 22 April 2009 will be taking place during an important and significant month in our political calendar. It was during this month 16 years ago 10 April 1993, the then SACP General-Secretary and high leading figure of the ANC Cde Chris Hani was dastardly gunned down; and whose blood made April 27 1994 possible as our election day and freedom. It is now our responsibility and task as the youth and the people of South Africa to make sure that we vote the ANC en masse on the 22 April 2009 as part of defending the gains we have made over the past 15 years of our democracy in memory of Chris Hani. As part of our contribution for a decisive elections victory for the ANC we will be intensifying our elections campaign targeting young people both in urban and rural areas informed by the following ANC's Manifesto plan for the next five years; 1. Creation of decent work and sustainable livelihoods 2. Education 3. Health 4. Rural development, food security and land reform and 5. Fight against crime and poverty We believe these key above plans are central in improving the lives of young people for the better. All young people to the voting stations on the 22 April 2009 in defense of our gains and building a better future under the stewardship of ANC President Jacob Zuma! *Victory is Certain! Jacob Zuma Our President!* Issued by Young Communist League of South Africa --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You are subscribed. This footer can help you.
