I agree with you my leader, whats happening there at TUT is
unfortunate. indeed the problems ermanate from the years you have
mentioned. Now the campus is indefinately closed, imagine, just after
new students are about to take charge of their own destiny. I have not
heared anything from SASCO Leadership at both HQ and the Branch in so
far as this drama is concerned. Even the Convocant or Ulimni leaderships
are quite, but i understand they are led by former SASCO members. May is
because i have not bieng glued-up to the events.

But so far what i heared is that the demands of the staff are highly
unreasonable and unjustified, in particular with regard to the salaries
as they have made a benchmark in almost all universities in SA. And this
was confirmed by the newspaper article/advert written by VC Errol
Tyobeka on the City Press of last of last weekend. It was very
unambiquios.

Its very disturbing, in particular in view of the coming elections

Comrades i am a proud graduate of TUT and whats happening right know
breaks my heart. and i want tyo appeal to all comrades who feel as i
do
about the issues to start a progressive discussion which will end up in
us
taking some action!

i must ofcoz make ny plea clear, i think that comrades who served in
the
SRC and broader student leadership structure between 2001 & 2004 are
best
placed to assist, no offence to anybody else and this does not limit
others to assist, i mean all those of u(us) who at soem point or
another
were involved in the MMT's will have better background.

Oh comrade this is not a platform for us to start question each others
credentials, so i dont expect any comrades to blame comrades from
other
campus for 'saling out' - wat ever that means. or for comrades to
accuse
previous student leadership for lacking decisive.

all of the above are important to note and remember but they cant and
wont
be of any help in what needs to be done!

So lets all put our heads together as some of us are not willing to
seat
by and let TUT close doors! Even if it means we take to the street!
