I am lucky to have passed through the hands of Cde Frans Mohlala, the unfortunate part is that while learning from him I never had chance to be able to learn while engaging him. I was a new military recruit and he was a senior MK Commander and a Commisar. Cde Frans in most cases was part of the solution. By then I hated Afrikaans and the white people, Cde Frans taught me that you don't hate white or a language at any moment if you are really a communist and a South African revolutionary, hatred should be directed to the oppressive system and everything that represented it. Most people who never knew his name were very surprised and disturbed to hear his passing on.
Comrade Frans returned to carry the task that was left by those who've been there before him. His name will forever be remembered as one of the people who carved the dispensation that saw the rise and empowerment of the working class in this country.
