Greetings, I believe that the route taken by the government of the ANC led by Cde Jacob Zuma is more correct than ever before. Firstly, we should look at the fact that it identified the key challenges faced by our society and made those challenges direct priorities. Even with this current global crisis that is predicted will take years of recovery, South Africa will come out soon, I believe.
If one looks into even the new ministries, they speak directly to these challenges and the leadership appointed is relevant as well. I believe that this government is capable enough as well to create serious job of opportunities. These priorities interlink, if they are looked properly. Rural Development led by Cde Nkwinti for example, is something that will definitely create employment for our people in all spheres. If the government can have agencies owned by it for construction, then that can save a lot of money and to even pay labour more money rather than out sourcing. This ministry is powerful in the sense that people can also get that opportunity of producing their own foods in the rural areas and not depend entirely on consuming. Then their economy will depend on them, meaning the country’s economy is in its own hands. I also think that it is time that we African people focus on our continent and the development of it. South Africa is the only hope of Africa and if it is weak, then Mother Africa is weak. Also when one looks at the values of Africa, you really find the link between Socialism and Africa. But then the capitalists have distorted these things to our people. Our education now must start speaking to the development of this country and Africa at large. The curriculum must relate to our challenges and not study irrelevant things. South Africa will become what is meant to become, without the people who live to critic and disrupt rather than building. Of course, this is not an overnight thing. Rome was not built in a day. Countries like Cuba, Japan, Venezuela, etc, have built their states to what they are today, without the people who live to criticize. Toward South African Socialism, I agree.
