I am in full acquiesence with the view of banning of soapies, for the already mentioned reasons, however you have to put cognisance of fact that we are trying to built a socialist movement first then communism. Hasta La Victorias Siempre!

For example you can't tell your girl who's drinking, in a first date to stop drinking with immediate effect... Comrade Castro is absolutely correct to this extent at least, that it is no good to discuss the question of the SABC as if it was in a cultural and political vacuum. Comrade Castro has engaged critically on the matter of the content of the SABC's cultural output, and that of other broadcasters, and his critique is correctly directed at the class message that is the "sub-text" of almost everything that the broadcasters put out, whether the content is local or from overseas. The challenge that Cde Castro has made is for you to produce more and better ideas about the cultural and political content of broadcasting in South Africa. Where are your ideas on this question, comrades? By the way, you do not have to limit the debate to this forum. You can also engage on the page where the article is on the Citizen web site – see the link that I gave when I posted the article. Our revolution cannot fail to pass through a mass cultural struggle, comrades, in my opinion. This cultural struggle is long overdue, in my opinion. It is more than appropriate that the YCL is firing the first salvos in this cultural battle. Whether one agrees with Cde Castro at the tactical level, you cannot say that he is wrong to raise this question at all. If you say that, then you are at a loss for any leadership, and have resigned yourselves to an endless diet of hollow, counter-revolutionary bourgeois culture. Seize the time, comrades!
