Comrades I am very impressed with the astute political move of the President Cde Zuma as he attempts to woe the IFP back into the fold. This will likely increase our vote and support by millions in KZN and automatically with the support of the IFP in parliament we will have well above the two thirds majorithy.
Already the Secretary of the IFP is not outrightly rejecting the proposal but instead politely arguing for an alliance. Unity which seems possible will take us closer to the historical purpose of the ANC to unite all people behind the pursuance of the objectives of the NDR, and eliminating a major political obstacle. To a great measure we would be progressing towards achieving what we did not in 1994; eliminating the vestiges of tribal and Bantustan politics in KZN in particular. The question is will the IFP hawks agree? What will be the thinking of the IFP Youth Brigade on this matter? Or will the attempts of Buthelezi to save his own legacy be the overiding factor? He knows he power inside and outside the IFP is waning what options does he have? Clearly if he goes for the measure a breakway from the IFP may occur, but can it survive without him. It will be interesting to hear what the thinking of Cadres is on this matter. I hope I have teased and tantalizingly presented the issue for your critical minds to respond without restrain.
