We must all agree what we know about this case is what
comes from engagement with each other and the media. The TV
flighting of the incidence indicate that we should actually
be talking about state violence. Soldiers fleeing and
police shooting them from the back. So we may at the end
come to the conclusion that nothing was regrettable on the
part of the soldiers.

To answer some of your questions we may actually have no
other option to engagement amongst state and unions, this
is not bureaucratic. Unfortunately the DoD is of the view
the Minister cannot be in boardrooms every day with unions.
Who called for that is this not evassive?

Unfortunately we cannot ignore the fact that we live in a
capitalist society. our task is to use the continuous
crisis that charecterise capitalist society to educate the
working class not to be "a class in itself but a class for
itself." I dont see any black on black violence in this
matter but state violence. In the context of the NDR we are
engaged in a class struggle that will be overt and covert
from time to time but certainly unending in the context of
capitalism.

Let me also state that we must not allow the soldiers to be
used to entrench a culture of low wages and a digression
from quality jobs. If we differ with the leadership in this
regard, when they digress from agreed ANC positions theres
nothing wrong about workers action.Did we not agree at
Polokwane about quality jobs? We cannot go back to the pre
- Polokwane period where the wrong views of leaders was
sacrosanct. I must say that whilst the approach of the
unions has been radical it has been respectful towards the
Minister and leadership, whilst there has been an attempt
to propject them as reckless.
