You appear to have misses my point, there was a rhetoric question asked by Mduduzi "Does this mean Cde Pravin understands socialism more than Cde Blade?". In response to this question I was saying that it would be misleading to compare ideological understanding between the two comrades on the basis of how they went about in purchasing their vehicles as ministers, because even if Pravin is a capitalist, he could still have bought a cheaper car from his ministerial perk because he already owns the expensive ones.
I fully agree that the spending should be discouraged as indicated in the last part of my e-mail. Pravin comes from the position of commissioner of SARS where he was earning a salary which was even above that of the president. It would be misleading to compare Blade to Pravin, because whilst he bought a cheaper vehicle from his perk as a minister, we are not told of the other cars he owns which he bought using a salary he earned from our taxes in his previous position. Blade's salary as GS was only a fraction of the salary of the commissioner, so he came to office with nothing compared to the finance minister, their back ground are not the same. However the call for conservative spending is correct and should be both encouraged and supported.
