Cde Viwe,
How is the statement going to change the RTT. Did your branch formally wrote a letter to the PEC regarding the concerns? Did you write to the NEC through the SG regarding the same matter? How is mobilising the community regarding organisational issues going to effect change to the organisation?
I found the statement out of touch with realities of organisational discipline. Will the forum participants dictate terms to the PEC and/or the NEC on what steps should be taken moving forward? When are we going to learn to follow organisational processes?
Where is the statement directed to? Is it a media statement or a YCLSA Forum statement or a statement sent to structures of the organisation? I am really woried if we will continue in this fashion of statements in ignorance of organisational procedures. Article L of the ANCYL constitution applies to this situation because there is no clause of disbandment and no clause of establishing task teams. The NEC has an upper hand in matters of rules and regulations including that of establishing RTTs and disbandment of RECs.
I hope that proper channels of writing letters to upper structures regarding your legitimate concerns will be followed. The eHlanzeni Region has been in an almost similar situation since August last year. However, the situation is yet to be rescued by the NEC. Letters have been written but the most daunting challenge is that there are less branches in good standing thus the region cannot be assembled in a properly constituted.
We hope and believe that the work of the SG and the task team will clear the air and branches will be able to launch without hindrance, fear or favour. It is only congress that can provide a legitimate structure that will be democratically elected within the confines of the constitution.
For now, please cadre, seek intervention of the NEC through the SGO.
Amandla!
