Cde Life did well by clarifying that indeed YCL does have a program and that
throwing insults around when scared of debates, will not advance the NDR.
Please cadre, do not do the same thing you condemning as well
YCL in your province seems to be very active, keep it up

Subject: [YCLSA Discussion] ‘We do not need a Black Messiah either’-YCL Free
state responds

‘We do not need a Black Messiah either’-YCL Free state responds
24 November 2009
Just to bring some ease on comrades about the utterances of the ANCYL
President. There is a programme of action in the YCLSA, and fortunately we
don’t take advantage of the platforms set for certain purposes to speak our
mind. We speak our mind through our programmes. Under our leadership in just
about 12 months in office, the National Secretary came thrice in this province.
Firstly, he spent full three days in a massive elections work interacting with
the community and the majority of the working class youth in three districts of
the YCL in this province. Secondly, with elections he also visited Tumahole,
and preached the gospel on the victory of the African National Congress.
Thirdly, he came to address the historic second Provincial Council of the YCL
in the Free State.
And this is only about the NS. We have done a lot as the YCL this year only; on
our record we have assisted young people who struggled to access their ‘blue
card’ following their retrenchments. We, together with YCL leadership visited
the correctional centre in Harrismith to interact with the inmates and asses
the work of the Warders and challenges they are facing.  We as YCL visited
schools which had arrogantly refused to allow the formation of Cosas, and today
we have it there. We launched Kabelo Thibedi in Josie Mpama and Tisha Vhanga
districts where about 3000+ ID’s where issued to help young people to access
grants, jobs, education etc. We visited through our branches more than 40
schools in the province on record on our Joe Slovo Right to Learn Campaign,
assessing the conditions of learner environment, accessibility and proximity of
tavern to schools giving impetus the culture of teaching and learning.  We
fought against a school principal
who suspended learners on the basis of their pregnancy in Clocolan High with
disregard to their constitutional right to education. We together with SASCO
fought the student struggle against the financial exclusions in CUT Welkom
campus, UFS and CUT main campus. The reason why today SASCO came out victorious
in the recent SRC elections which saw the first historic black president at UFS
is twin revolutionary work of the YCL, SASCO and the ANC. And no other
organistion in the province has achieved what we have achieved programmatically
working together with the progressive forces.
YOU SEE… WE DO NOT NEED A BLACK MESSIAH EITHER TO TELL US ABOUT PROGRAMME… What
does he know about the programme by the way?
I am sure he cannot wait to hear about the funeral of another prominent
politician, so he can continue his hooliganic remarks. He can’t wait to hear
about a similar Caster Semenya Debacle so he can use his blue lamp to undermine
traffic officials to go and spit uninformed racist comments. I think you
comrades have seen how costing it can be to send someone blank and without
understanding of student struggles and tertiary dynamics to UFS. Today, cde
Chabana Chabana, the deputy Chair of SASCO is going up and down to clear up the
mess so that SASCO regains confidence of the students. He has no choice,
because come next year we will lose again what we oft might win. This is the
aftermath of ‘senseless radicalism’ and political nigampoogism.

Ke ra gore gabotsebotse pele motho a bula molomo wa gagwe o ditjhila, a be a
itse hore na o bolela ka eng.
This is characterization of the shabby symbols of the by-gone shenanigan. We
are not going to be threatened by people who took a leave away from the
classroom to make those who studied feel ashamed of the knowledge they
acquired. Buti, is an organic intellectual. He is a product of our movement and
unlike many, he was produced by SASCO hence his high level of intellect and
sophisticated intonation. RE TLA DULA RE MO THEKGA MANAMELA.
The fact that some people are now in the leadership positions does not make
them more ANC than others. It cannot be correct also to remind people how
skeleton were they few years back, always wearing inelastic Red T-shirts of the
National Union of Mineworkers. They might also have to remind us whether they
were born rich with stomachs running down like fat cats today and atleast with
some hake mouth that’s never closed, because the stomach is full.
If you don’t know how to substantiate on issues you have placed on the table,
do not cloud discussions with insults and the mimicking others.
BECAUSE IF YOU TOUCH BUTI, YOU TOUCH ONE OF OUR OWN.THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR
HIS HEAD, THEY WILL NOT SUCCEED.
