This concert will be followed by a *march* that will call for a National Policy that provides every child in South Africa with fully functional school libraries and an implementation plan. Five drafts of the policy on school libraries have been made and no policy exists. The Concert and a March will be held at Thibault Square, Cape Town to Parliament, on the 21 March 2010 at 11: 30 am. Equal Education has organised marches around the country [21 March in Cape Town, 26 March in Pretoria and 30 March in Limpopo]. For the march that will be held in Cape Town, trains will be available at no cost for the route from Khayelitsha to Cape Town station and Mitchell’s Plain to the Cape Town station. More than 50 000 signatures for the petition calling for this national policy on school libraries have been collected by Equal Education members, communities, schools and civil society to show their support of this campaign that is trying to bring resources into poor and working class schools of this country.
