The ANC YL bureaucracy disqualified a large number of delegates that were not going to support them, dismissed the Congress arrangements committee, threw out the media, and have now rigged a result - see Floyd's latest update.
Throwing out the media is a defiance of what JZ said this morning. This is either a fascist coup in progress, or it is going to be a good clean-out. It's a big breaking story but there is hardly any coverage. There was a bit of TV footage, up to the point where the cameras were thrown out. COSATU was supposed to have a bilateral with the ANC today, but the meeting was abandoned after an hour because too few people pitched. When Vavi was interviewed by Jeremy Maggs on TV about his wife's business a few days ago, he re-floated the Floyd "brown envelope" lie. He also said that the people out to get him were those who did not like his lifestyle audit ideas. That includes the SACP which has said it should stay with SARS (e.g. the Sowetan article you have just seen). He also attacked the party on another occasion and failed to pitch at a party anti-corruption meet last Monday. Issy is not too good. The news is not good. We will try to go and see him tomorrow.
