Comrades do you remember the debate in the movement, especially in the Communist Party of South Africa and later in the Comintern about the National Liberation Struggle? During this debate the CPSA (or at least some cdes therein) argued that the National Liberation Struggle is a bourgeois struggle. The antithesis, argued by Cde Moses Kotane was that the National Liberation Struggle is a prerequisite for a socialist revolution in the colonised world. This was presented as a thesis in the Comintern by Lenin and was adopted giving birth to the now fashionable concept "National Democratic Revolution".
I did not take any serious effort to be factually correct on the above expose' but to argue a point that it is true that the slight difference between the National Liberation Movement like the ANC and the DA or any other oposition for that matter, is the socialist content of the NDR which the ANC is proudly denouncing of late. The ANC is indeed not socialist, like some of our leaders never miss an opportunity to point out and affirm to the delight of their imperialist handlers. The only reason why it is not strategic to raise this argument in this juncture is because of the balance of power nationally and globally which is in favour of the bourgeois class. The working class relies on the fact that the ANC cannot survive without the working class. This is evident on the kind of policies that it always adopts, pro working class yet the practice of capitalist accumulation dominates. Young people are in a confusing environment to an extend that it is naive to expect them to be revolutionaries (agents of change from the exploitive capitalist system) when they are led by flashy billionaires whom they fancy as their role models. Socialism will never be delivered on a silver platter, however it is the future, let's build it now!
