** *YCLSA NATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING CONVENING THIS WEEKEND* ** *7 May 2010* The National committee (NC) of the Young Communist League 0f South Africa (uFasimba) will be convening its scheduled meeting as from today *Friday 7 May to the 9th of May 2010* at the Vincent Mabuyakhulu Conference Centre, Newtown, Johannesburg. The National Committee of the YCLSA is convening at a time where the majority of Young people in South Africa are entrapped in unfavouring socio economic conditions that have seen an increase in unemployment and poverty. This plight continues to make the Youth of South Africa vulnerable to social ills such as crime and its quiet evident that more young people are at the forefront of Service delivery protests as a result of these frustrations on the ground. Skills Development is paramount in ensuring that more young people can be absorbed in mainstream of the economy; this equally speaks to the dire need for Free Education which will be discussed in the meeting. The Secretariat will deliver both the organizational and political reports to the National Committee. The political report will be focusing on the following key issues for deliberations; - National Congress to take place in December - Developments around the NYDA - Jobs for Youth Summit - Higher education- the Road to Free Education A post National Committee *PRESS CONFERENCE* will be held to announce the key decisions emanating from the meeting. It will take place in the University of Johannesburg (UJ), Bunting Road Campus.
